Oh, god, no. Personality logic is already fucked-up as it is; the last thing it needs is to be separated. BAD GEESE! EVEN FOR GEESE!

No really It would allow for more customization and better matches!! Why should every wrestler be fighting with the same aggressiveness at the beginning of the match as at the end! Also i'd love to see variable flexibility throughout the match. Imagine you get someone like Tajiri facing off with Kurt Angle. In the beginning (early match flex), Tajiri decides to be all "indy love fest" and digs into his moves that are similar to Angle's and tries to mat wrestle Angle...but to no avail. So then he gets outwrestled and decides to go with what brought him to the game, vicious kicks! So his flexibility lowers (mid match) and he does more striking moves and isn't as tempted to match Angle's mat wrestling moves. That's just one example of how this can work. And yeah, you are now saying: "why not just use regular move logic" to simulate that. The answer is that you'd then have to set up a specific Tajiri edit to face Angle. Whereas if you 3 flex periods, it allows you to have a more general moveset Tajiri (with emphasis on kicks but also moves that simulate every style of wrestling), so you can face EVERYONE and not just one specific style. Plus, if you split personality logic into three "segments" of the match, it will actually be EASIER to hone each one. Cause then you can just pay attention to three small sections rather then one big one and it will be easier to both see and fix any errors. How many times have you tried to fix something cause of an early match problem only to find that you NOW have a late match problem you didn't have before? If you can split personality logic it into three, you can give maximum efficiency to each part of the match and better integrate it with your actual move logic, ukemi, and other parts of the logic.

But that's how they act through the entire match, anyway. It's all moveset, too, as far as that goes, also, because no matter what Tajiri's moveset is, he'll still do those kinds of Angle-style moves if he's set to, and won't do them if he's not set to. And seeing as though Large Damage is the biggest part of the match... it's kinda moot to have that detailed a part of the match that lasts six in-game minutes, yanno?

Wow... how did I miss this topic?
I've been wondering about these match repeats for a while. Here I thought I was hallucinating or something, that they were just close approximations of each other, but now I'm certain that yes, the matches were exactly the same and yes, the match is definitely simmed at some point before it actually starts.
I'm grateful as shit (really grateful shit) for the information about ukemi, as that was one thing that I had no freakin' clue how to use in FPR.
Geese... no. Just... no. Personality logic isn't broken (as far as I can tell) so why bother trying to "fix" it? As moto pointed out, the majority of the match happens at the higher damage settings anyway. I don't need that much micro-mini-management to consider.

The multiple personality settings is indeed a nifty idea... like, allowing for the opening portion of a match (a Jumbo/Misawa mat wrestling bit) to be a little longer, allowing for both men to really take their time setting things up before reaching into the INTENSE STRETCH!!!
...but, at the same time, I don't think we have enough move set spaces for somethign like that. It'd be nice, but as a "once in a while" thing, not something I'd want to see every match.

After today what I wouldn't mind seeing in future Fire Pro's is the ability to pre-determine who will win in CPU sims. Hell I'll even settle for the system AKI/THQ implimented in the WCW/nWo 64 games where you can set handicaps before the match. Because as of right now tonights Fusion card has been a big fuckin headache.

The ability to pre-set WHO wins the match and then the only thing up to the game would be the match quality. I so know what you are talking about! When you go into a match with a desired winner (as us e-fed types often do) and then either a) the match sucks or b) the match rules but has the wrong winner or c) the match rules but has the right winner and a sucky ending! I wish you luck in your simming. I was tearing my hair out last night simming for the 12/13 and LAWLIDAY show for hours. (including an amazing 45 minute tag match that had THE most anticlimactic ending in the history of wrestling). I know the pain but i'm sure it will be worth it in the end for us Fusion Dojo fans
