Go to the store. They should have pop-ons on the system display boxes in the DS section. ... I'm pretty sure the deal is still going on, anyway. But, shit, why not just get a DSi since you wanna get a new DS anyway? No GBA Slot, not R4 compatible, and features that I probably won't use anyway. Though, I'll think about it since there have been news about new flash cards breaking through the DSi and I do want new stuff. Kinda traded in my original DS towards the DS Lite on impulse anyway.

I picked up GTA Chinatown Wars last night (although Best Buy fucking ripped me off...), but haven't gotten a chance to play it yet. I don't know what the general consensus on GTA is around here; me, I think they're alright, but I don't think they're the "ZOMG T0TALLY AW3SOME OSC4R-WORTHY!1!11!!1!!" games so many people make them out to be. GTA: CW has been getting fairly decent reviews, so I figured what the heck, might as well give it a go. Edit: Nevermind, Best Buy just made it up to me.

My friends love GTA and try to jump on it as soon as possible? Me? I always find GTA fun atleast for the first few hours then I get tired of it. IGN did give GTA: CW a 9.5. Interesting though, GTA going back to its roots being played on birds eye view. Also, I've made my decision on my DS Lite troubles. Found this little neat trick to help my L button out. Lift up the L button a bit and blow on it. Could also dab the button a little with some water from a q-tip. After that, the button would work again except for a short while. Maybe about a week? I'm just going to keep my DS Lite for now until maybe when the white DSi comes out. Gotta have it match up with my Castlevania stylus.

So, GTA:CW is pretty good, as far as GTA games go. When it was first announced, I expected something really crappy, and when I heard it was top down, I figured it'd be as meh as GTA Advance, but it's better. My complaints, though: for one, your health meter is too difficult to pay attention to; it's a dark green ring around the map on the bottom screen. The other complaint is, it's also hard to pay attention to the map/ GPS, while making sure to drive properly on the top screen. I think it actually talked in GTA4, which made it a bit easier since you didn't have to keep looking at it, but it can be tough glancing down to the screen to make sure you turn at the right corner, and then looking up to see that you've plowed straight into a cop who's now pissy enough to chase you around because of it.

So those jerks what made Riviera are back, this time with the fucking crazy-wacky DS game Knights in the Nightmare. From reading that preview (and I'd definitely suggest watching the video, too), this sounds like one of those fucked-up niche games that only 20 people are gonna buy, and only 8 of 'em will love it. So, you know, right up my alley. If you don't want to read all them words, tho, then imagine some sadistic bastard made you play IKARUGA while also playing Disgaea. Sounds really daunting, yes, but once you see how the breakdown works, you'll (hopefully) get it. It clicks pretty well the way they've done it. PRE-ORDER'D!

New DS Zelda announced; it's tentatively titled Spirit Tracks, and involves Link riding on a train similar to using the boat in WW and PH. Looking for a vid, cuz I really want to see it, but haven't found one yet.

Actual video is up at GameTrailers, but I'm too lazy to post a link.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't like Link's new train conductor costume! Too bad there's no way to add that as a patch to SSBB's Toon Link character! ;D

I think this is a cool idea for a game. Trains have their own mystique and working them directly into the storyline could be interesting. In other newz...I choo choo choose Zelda

I like this one, so far. Looks good, and I loved Phantom Hourglass. If you watch the trailer, it looks like you'll only be rocking the conductor outfit for awhile, cuz they show him on the train in his adventuring clothes. I'm excited for this.

Hot damn! So, last semester when I started taking college classes, I applied for financial aid, and quite literally got enough to cover my whole tuition for at least this year (prolly next year, too). Anyway, apparently I got so much, they started refunding some of it back to me; last semester, I got quite a bit back, but had to use it for pretty mundane things. I didn't think I'd be getting anything back this semester, but today I was surprised by a $400~ check from them! And I'm actually well enough off at the moment that I can have a little fun with this money, so now I'm pondering getting a DSi. I'm still a little iffy on it, considering my Lite is fine and I really can't see the DSi being anything more than the thing that holds us over for another year or two before Nintendo's next gen handheld hits the market, but at the same time, I'm a big sucker for upgrades like this. :/ Although, I also have a $20 Best Buy gift card, and I should be getting some pretty decent paychecks this week and next, so... Hm.

You know, you will have to pay that "free money" back to your provider one day... Just saying.
