HE WHO HESITATES IS LOST!!1
I just had to buy a new DS Lite back in August (as you may've remembered), but I'm still chomping at the bit to get a DSi. I wish I had more monies, so I could be more of a consumer electronics whore. I WANT THE GODDAMNED LG WATCH PHONE, TOO, YANNO?!?

Sooooooooooooo.................. Who's jumpin' on the DSi bandwagon? I'm out. DSi without GBA B/C, screw it. If I need a new camera, I'll buy a camera, not a DSi. Nintendo needs to drop it's gimmick crutch and start churning out some quality shit.

I'm... undecided. On one hand, my Lite is perfectly fine, and I could probably do to save the cash I'd be spending on the DSi. On the other hand, I'm a sucker for redesigns. Really, I don't mind the lack of GB slot, as I don't play any older handheld games, anymore, nor do I have any DS games that make use of that extra slot (the GH DS games, for instance). I'm not that crazy about the music playback and picture stuff, but I suppose it'd be a little fun to mess around with. DSiWare is definitely one of the n reasons I may be interested. I've also heard that (and keep in mind, I'm not completely buying this, as there are lots of reasons why this would be stupid) there will be "major" DSi-only retail games. Again, I think that will end up false, and that any DSi-only retail titles will probably be too gimmicky to really be good (what with probably relying on the camera way too much), but if I'm some how wrong... I dunno. So, I'm not sure, yet. The sucker in me is saying "BUY BUY BUY!", but the sensible side is saying "Dude, the 'upgrades' don't really justify the $180 price tag; your Lite is perfectly fine, save the money".

They'll probably have that witch molestation game, but this time players can be EXTRA-SPECIAL creepy, and take pictures of some girl at school/work/the bus stop, and paste it onto the victim's head. Who can say no to that kind of DSi exclusivity?... The police as they drag your creepy ass to jail, perhaps?

I don't know why, but I'm having some durability issues with my DS Lites. It's always that damn L button that seems to constantly die on me. It's not like I toss my systems around, but I'm having the worst luck with the DS Lite (L Button) and GBA (Down on the D-Pad). I had no problem whatsoever with the Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Color, GBA SP, Phat Nintendo DS, and my PSP, one of the earliest models is still alive and kicking. Though the PSP did give me a scare, I was able to shake it off. That said, the first time Nintendo was generous enough to fix it for me free of charge, don't remember if I was still under warranty or not. This was a launch DS Lite. After a while, L button was busted again, called up Nintendo and again was generous, but this time offered the advance replacement plan. Sent me a refurbished DS Lite before I had to send in my DS in. This time I checked online and it said it's gonna cost me $75 to get it fixed. Instead of paying $75, I thought I might make the jump to the DSi hoping to get better luck, but the new features doesn't look too impressive. I don't really care about these download services and I don't take pictures. If I really really wanted to take pictures on a handheld system, I would probably just buy the PSP Camera add on. The biggest killer why I probably would shoot down the idea of getting the DSi (for me atleast) is the upgraded security feature. Not being able to run flash cards? Would make my R4 useless, no thanks. No GBA slot, can't use my EZ Flash, no thanks. I should give Nintendo another call to see if they can replace it for free again, but that hasn't worked out yet. Maybe I should get a new DS Lite off the shelf. But really moto, DSi is $170, you got a DS Lite already, go get a new PSP for $170 so you can go play some Prinny

I LOL'd ;D I don't really have interest in the DSi until i see some games that are DSi exclusive. My DS Lite still works wonderfully (though doesn't get that much use, unfortunately) so I'm good for now. And any new electronic moneys goes to a PS3 at this point anyway.

Alright, been neglecting my DS quite a bit because of Prinny for PSP and Street Fighter 4 and now Resident Evil 5 for PS3. Also, probably its also because on the back of my mind it's because my L button is giving me troubles. Got a few games that I should catch up on, like Fire Emblem along with Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume coming out next week (probably most of you won't get this anyways), but not sure what should I do with my DS.
Like I said in the previous post, this isn't the first time the L button died on me. The previous times I had it repaired for free with Nintendo, but I'm not sure I want to deal with it this time. Gonna cost me $75, but I'm thinking about just getting a new DS Lite instead of a refurbished one. There's still a possibility I might look into the DSi, but right now it's unlikely.
I want another white DS Lite, but it seems like no one is selling those anymore, GameStop only has the white refurbished one. Don't really like the mix colored one, so probably would have to go with the metallic silver one, but thats a minor problem.
Big problem is I don't know what to do with my current DS Lite if I choose to buy a new one. If I try to trade it in towards the new one, it's probably a good idea not to tell him that my current one is a bit messed up. But, is it awkward to be trading it in for a "new color"? If I don't trade it in, I'll get stuck with 2 DS Lites, what should I do?

GameStop has trade-in deals for both of your problems. Trade in toward a new color, and get bonus credit, or trade-in toward a DSi and get $70 store credit for it.

Deal to trade in for a new color? Where is this?

GameStop. I think that's still going on, anyway. It's called, like, "trade to your true color", or some noise.

Huh, I don't see this mentioned anywhere on their website.

Go to the store. They should have pop-ons on the system display boxes in the DS section.
... I'm pretty sure the deal is still going on, anyway. But, shit, why not just get a DSi since you wanna get a new DS anyway?
