Hey, Joe. Look at this fucker, and then see what it evolves from. Christ. Mothafuckin' Magne tank. [edit:] Lordy, lordy. Lookin' thru the new pokédex, and man. Some of the new evolutions for some of the original pokémon are crazy. The new evolutions for Tangela and Electabuzz, and Magmar are crazy-looking, and the new Eevee-lutions are equal parts cute and creepy. Lots of new ways to evolve, too, including leveling up in specific areas, and having a certain poké in your ranks. Interesting stuff. [edit 2:] Holy crap, poké-rabbi.

FEAR ME!***EDIT*** So, who else thinks all of the Diamond/Pearl names will be changed to more "familiar", asinine names by North American release? (ie. Things like "Squirtle")

Eh, I don't see why they would. Diamond/Pearl seems to go along with the past names, like Red/Blue, Gold/Silver, and Ruby/Sapphire.
Anyway, I'm not sure which version I plan to get... o.O I like both of those legendary dragons, but I'd never be able to actually get both (don't have WiFi, don't want to get both games, and I don't know anyone that doesn't think Pokemon is "teh kiddy~!"). Also, I can't tell; which is supposed to be the new Dragonite-type set that each game seems to end up having? Or is there one, this time around?

So, who else thinks all of the Diamond/Pearl names will be changed to more "familiar", asinine names by North American release? (ie. Things like "Squirtle") Of course they will. Only a handful of the D/P pokés (WHY DID THEY USE "DIAMOND" AND "PEARL" AS THE NAMES?! HORRIBLE IDEA!!) have had English names released, and even though in the past game they slacked off a bit and let a couple of the Japanese names slip through instead of American-ing them up a bit, but most of them will have different names than the Japanese edition. don't have WiFi, don't want to get both games, and I don't know anyone that doesn't think Pokemon is "teh kiddy~!". You could always find yourself a WiFi hot-spot when it's time to throw it down, yo. Also, I can't tell; which is supposed to be the new Dragonite-type set that each game seems to end up having? Or is there one, this time around? Doesn't seem to be a high-level evolving group this time around. And I'm perfectly fine with that. Some really freaky-lookin' one-onlys, though. But, I really get the feeling that they're starting to run out of ideas for new creatures, though I'm glad to see they're adding some evolutions to the original cast.

The thing about this is that WiFi is going to finish our pokedex. The only person in the area I know who is guaranteed to get this game is my girlfriend - my sister was talking about it, but she's of the wacky opinion that she's going to get my DS. ANYWAYS. WiFi is goign to finish a lot of our pokedexes. For example, Duff and I have arranged a trade for the new Magmar evolution - I get the Magmar evolution, he gets the Toys R Us special Mew I got. I like not having the uber-Dragonite chain this time about - having done the work to get Salamence/Dragonite/Tyranitar is okay, but who wants to do it THREE OR FOUR TIMES? Not I, good sir, not I!

:( Whoops, misread Smacked Ass's thing about changing names... >_< Where do I find these hotspots? Job's right for one - most Starbucks across the country are set up with WiFi capabilities. College campuses, assuming you don't live in North Dakota or whatnot, and various restaurants may have wireless intrawebnet capabilities near you.

This discussion has been had, much like your mom. OH! Prepare to be disappointed Quagmire! Bihldorff Says Mother 3 A No-Go For US 11/6/2006, 11:03am Eastern Time
Earthbound fans should prepare to be disappointed.
In an interview with Planet GameCube, NOA localization manager Nate Bihldorff says that there are currently no plans underway to translate Mother 3 for an English release. Bihldorff says, "...I'm not working on Mother 3. I don't have all the writers under me, so there may be other people in discussions going on with it, but I wouldn't look forward to it in the immediate future, no. Sorry, I know! There's a big Mother fanbase, there is. At least everyone can go back and play Melee to get your Ness on."
This would obviously come as a crushing blow to Earthbound fans who were hoping for the long-awaited third installment in the series to show up in the Western markets. Bihldorff did not say it was completely out of the question, however, but merely said that there were no plans currently to localize the game.
In the interview, Bihldorff also talked about the localization procedure for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and says that the T rating was appropriate, considering the new, more realistic graphical style the game possesses. He also said that playing the GameCube version of the title is somewhat jarring after getting used to the Wii edition.

That's not cool. Why does Nintendo hate RPGs?
