Yeah I heard about those two difficulty modes, i'm not into that though. I'll be happy when I finish the regular game. I know that some people pride themselves on having "perfect runs" on this game (Strider too) but thats not really my style. Still, im glad to see Capcom is giving people those opportunities Proto Man may be something I pursue though cause I hear he actually plays differently then Mega Man. He has a slide, a run, and a SHIELD which i think is kinda cool. Plus...its PROTO MAN. As a big fan of Mega Man 3, I'm a Proto Man mark (That whistle and teleportation ruled).

Never having played the old Mega Man games before, I really struggled with the idea of buying Mega Man 9. Well, last night, I took the plunge and bought it. I spent three hours playing last night, and I STILL haven't beat a single level. In fact, I played a single level those entire three hours! >_<

It took me three hours when I first started playing and i played 3 boards and couldn't beat any of them. But i needed those first few hours to get me back in the groove. And then it took me about another hour to learn and beat the Tornado man stage (which i think may be one of the easier ones). Its freaking hard but hard in a level design/enemy way rather then "this 3d play control/camera sucks ass" hard so i appreciate it

>_< The Tornado Man stage is actually the one I've already invested three hours into. T_T The actual boss battle is what really hurts me; I can get through the level alright, but nine times out of ten, I can barely even touch Tornado Man... There have been a handful of times when I got him down to half HP, once even down to about 25%, but I always get killed in the end. :/ One question, though... Even though I'm a Mega Man "noob", I know that traditionally, you get the bosses' weapons after defeating them, and each is really helpful against another boss. Well, is there any way of knowing which weapon is effective against which boss without having to do guess work? Like, I was looking at the level select screen, and I'm wondering if it goes in a clockwise motion as to which weapon is more powerful against who.

NOPE.
Except for the GLARINGLY OBVIOUS match ups, there's really only one way to find what the most effective weapon is on an enemy boss - trial and error.
Even the GLARINGLY OBVIOUS match ups aren't guaranteed.

There have been a handful of times when I got him down to half HP, once even down to about 25%, but I always get killed in the end. :/ I didn't find him that bad but it helped that I had at least one of those HP-tank extras (have you visited the "screw shop" yet?). It's kinda funny too cause I only got up to him ONCE and that was the time i beat him. I was so motivated too cause it was the first boss I got to face and after spending hours on that damn level, I was gonna beat him. The stage itself was mild once I got used to those flippy upside-down platforms. At least, "mild" compared to some of the other stages which scare me. One question, though... Even though I'm a Mega Man "noob", I know that traditionally, you get the bosses' weapons after defeating them, and each is really helpful against another boss. Even the GLARINGLY OBVIOUS match ups aren't guaranteed. I'm gonna do my best to not look at any internet guides either. I want to have that old guesswork experience. And often these things are ridiculously random. Like "Ginsu knife man" will job to "frozen pea box" man or ""Woodman" won't at all be affected "pics of old people" man.

Notorious example:
Skull Man was weak to the weapon you got from Dust Man.
That's right.
Skeletons are weak to trash and shit.

Does anyone have any opinions on the new Wario Land: Shake it game?
I saw some vids and description of it last night and was somewhat impressed. I still think Super Paper Mario is gonna get my moneyz first but I wonder if Wario Ware is a suitable game for afterwards.

I bought it, but haven't played it yet, cuz of Force Unleashed. I'm deciding between Shake It! and de Blob, which is a game I've been interested in since the first screenshots I'd seen. But, Shake It! is supposed to be a fun li'l romp, and de Blob a fun, larger romp, so I'm sure Shake It! will get my undivided attention first.

From what I've heard and seen, Shake it is meant as a variety-type platform game. Nothing TOO DIFFICULT (ala Mega Man 9) and also very dedicated to a simple horizontal platforming nature (ala the early Marios) but the difficulty comes at the end when you have to backtrack in the stage (with a timer) to get to the start. And you also have to make some tough decisions in terms of going for the quickest and easy route vs. the more profitable one. Overall, the game seems to have a lot of character and looks pretty fun.
The Blob game is getting a lot of positive reviews but it hasn't really hooked me in yet in terms of interest. I think its one of those games I have to play to fully understand its appeal, much like Boom Blox.
