I read (on the internet, so, grain of salt) that Nintendo felt disgruntled about the lengthy development/hype time for Smash Brothers Brawl - so, they keep their mouth shut until they're ready to release something. Which fits - announce the creation last year, show off a little something, STFU, then "hay guys new gaem lulz"

I prefer that.
I'm getting sick of developers and game companies feeling too bound by their own public release dates. They either pressure themselves (marketers/stock holders) or get too pressured by consumers.
Release a game when it's ready. When it's finished. I realize that holiday season has a bit extra draw to people but I think that gets equalized when the holidays have so many games that it ends up becoming less likely your game will get bought in the sheer cacophony of release dates.
But I'd rather Nintendo keep total quiet about a release date until they are DONE with a game, and then tell people about it after and start doling out previews and stuff.
It was annoying to see fans yelling at Nintendo for not getting the game out fast enough. It's gonna cost the same amount rushed as it is done, and it's only gonna be worse. I remember back before the net and before companies gave so much info, people had NO idea when a game would be released. I waited so long for Zelda 2 and was just happy it actually came out. Same with SM3. And even then I knew - it's ready when it's ready. It doesn't benefit me any other way if I'm the one expected to play it.

Just in time! You now have a few months to rest up before the next one! Did you get the special ending in addition to the standard one? You need like 120 stars (and maybe Luigi too) to get the special ending. I didn't feel like doing it (there were a number of boards I hated, ma inly water ones) and so I went on youtube to find the special ending video. If you liked the Luma/Rosalina story, you should check out the special ending

Nah, finished with 80 stars. Back when I first got the game, I set the goal in my mind that I'd collect all 120, but considering it took me, like, 2-3 years to even hit 80, I just didn't feel like trying to go after them all. Maybe in SMG2. I thought I remember reading about another ending or scene if you collected them all, so thanks for reminding me; I'll have to look for that on YouTube when I get the chance. Now I just gotta find the time to revisit MP3:C and finish that up.

I'm not the completionist type. Once it stops being fun and feeling like a chore, it's not a game to me. So I think I ended up finishing with around 80-90 or so. Some of those water boards were just too frustrating to even play. I never liked underwater boards in the side-scrolling Mario but its even worse in the 3d ones. It's worth checking out the secret ending. It's not that long but is a nice bonus So I got Mega Man 10 for the Wi tonight. And they put in an extra control feature that wasn't in Mega Man 9. You can now switch your weapons with the "B Trigger" button in addition to the menu method. Seems like a cool idea right? Well, not when you find that you grip the Wiimote in a way that your left index finger keeps brushing up against the trigger Other then that, the game is great so far. Some of the new enemies and boards are really innovative. The "Strike Man" board is especially fun and has great music

GASP!
Ogre Battle 64 is now on Virtual Console! I remember selling the N64 game to some dude I worked with for $90!!! Cool, I wouldn't mind playing that sucker again, it was pretty fun!
Now PSN just needs to release Tactics Ogre, and I'm set! ;D

Anyone getting Monster Hunter Tri tomorrow? I'm fucking psyched for that game. I've got it pre-ordered, for release date delivery via Amazon. Yesterday, I was at Wal-Mart, and they had copies of the game stocked, but they wouldn't sell it to me early (no surprise, but it was worth a shot).
I put in over 100 hours on MHFU, already, though I don't know how much I'll be able to put into Tri, just because playing a portable system is a bit more convenient than playing on my consoles, but still.

Anyone else play Metroid: Other M? I only ask because I need to switch shifts with someone for Samus' suicide watch tonight.

I haven't really been giving myself a chance to play this game. I got Persona 4 and Valkyria Chronicles 2 taking over. ........AND I still have Mass Effects 2 that I just haven't started yet.

It's good. It's just really... maudlin. The voice actress really is iffy.

I just made a huge mistake; I decided to check out GameFAQs' Other M message board.
... I was quickly reminded why I don't go to GameFAQs' message boards.
Seriously, though. Anyone else playing this?
