Don't go back and play it, you'll easily lose a few days, I'm not kidding. I played it a week ago, and nothing else for days. I was braggin about it to a buddy of mine, and although he thought it sounded strange (as per most of Smacked Ass' games), he was intruiged. He left about five minutes into me humming the tune and trying to show him the controlls. I didn't even really notice...

It's been a while since I've played, actually. As with most games, it quickly takes a backseat to FPR, KOC, e-feds, breakdanc...internetting! Though I give Katamari MAJOR credit for being the first game in two years to take attention away from FPW for a while AND stay in my mind urging me to play it with its music I'll get back into it soon though, once I finish up some of the e-fed stuff for the next 2 weeks Oddly enough (well, after seeing Wii Tennis!), i'm REALLY in the mood for a tennis video game now, but my Virtua Tennis is somewhat on the fritz Poor Milano fever just got rolled up by Katamari posts, LOL

LMAO! I was playing Virtua Tennis 2 on the DC after looking at the Wii tennis screep shots! I never thought I could enjoy a tennis game as much as VT2!

Sweet I just finished playing 30 min of VT 1. As I said, there's something wrong with the disc, it must be scratched. It resets every 20 min or so. But i got in a few nice games, so I'm happy. I really did enjoy the Virtua Tennis games, but i was BLOWN THE FUCK AWAY by Xbox Tennis game: Top Spin. That game is everything Virtua Tennis started but didn't finish. The play control is polished, the mechanism for the swing windup is awesome Honestly, i'd buy a cheap Xbox JUST to play Top Spin My favorite tennis game used to be Super Tennis on the SNES. And while it still has a strong nostalgic and fun factor, Top Spin is the new king. But Wii Tennis could end up winning in the end

Yo, I just had a match with some Russian dude (CPU) and I was some Spanish dude. back and forth with the match point, UNREAL! I also had a volley going for a little over a minute and a half! I almost just said fuck it and let the CPU take it, because I was on the phone doing the zombie conversation. I don't even know what the call was about, I was just stunned at this MASSIVE volley (Which Don Quixote ended up winning! Take that, Rasputin!)! I was trying to get my MSphile buddy to get Top Spin, but in his usual open minded form "Fucking tennis? Are you sure you don't want to rent some gay porn and get some white zinfandel to drink, too? Get the fuck outta here, tennis.".

While on the subject of Top Spin, do not - I repeat, DO NOT - buy Top Spin 2 for the PS2. It is garbage.

Yeah, I was surprised to hear that from the reviews I read. apparently it was a REALLY bad port onto the PS2, but was like nothing like the original Too bad too as I would have loved to have that on PS2. even if the graphics weren't the same, just to have that type play control would have ruled. Oh well

There's always SEGA Sports Tennis for Da Pee-Too, yo. It's the one with the Williams sisters on the front. Kinda hard to find, but it's the same engine as Virtua Tennis/Top Spin.

Da-Pee-Too? PS2?
The thing with Virtua Tennis vs. Top Spin is that Top Spin has a more refined swing system. A much better wind-up preparation period. Whereas Virtua Tennis, while on the right track with it, was nowhere near as controlled. Sometimes it was even downright sloppy and had you dive at times you didn't want to.
So does Sega Sports Tennis resemble Top Spin more or Virtua Tennis in terms of its control?
I'm really itching to get my hands on a new tennis game. While i loved Virtua Tennis back in the day and still do enjoy it every now and then, its hard to go back to it after Top Spin.
