heheh Well, it's true. I don't think the TV service is going to be available here in "Tha States", tho.

Serious question time. Why the FUCK would anyone want to watch television on a DS in the first place? Personally, I play games so that I don't have to watch that shit-storm of propaganda and idiocy. Stupid idea IMO, but to each their own I suppose.

Why? Cuz they can. Seriously. Why use the DS to surf the net, when you need to be connected to a router to do it, and can just as easily sit in front of your computer?

Why can't game consoles/portables just be about games? Does everything have to connect to the internet to be deemed useful these days? Imagine what the cash and research effort poured into chasing shitty novelties like cell phone and DS TV viewing capabilities could accomplish if directed at something useful like cancer research (oh yeah, there's no money to be made in a CURE...) or god forbid, equal educational opportunities for EVERYONE, regardless of financial status [/whiny, tree hugger rant]

... Cuz equal educational opportunities don't have broadband speed or 5000 channels.

Stupid idea IMO, but to each their own I suppose. I agree here, y'know? I don't want to watch TV on my DS. I would really rather not watch TV period, and for the most part, I manage that quite well (except for the random times when I actually sit and watch Raw)... The DS screens can handle TV shows, obviously. Maybe in a reduced quality format, but they're still capable of it. I'd prefer it like this, though - it's additional. Peripheral. It's not a selling point of a game system, it's something extra you can get, kinda like that controller glove for the NES. You don't miss out by not having it, y'know? The web browser would be used by me - because Spokane is Wireless Intrawebnet friendly, just about ANYWHERE I go in my day has this available to me. And, there are days where I'm not likely to get to a computer at any time, but I've always got my DS on hand. So, I'd use the web browser. And seriously: I want to watch videos of a monkey drinking its own pee. And if I can do this on my DS: Then the terrorists have fucking LOST.

So, I finally picked up a new game for my DS.
I went with Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, 'cause I like Castlevania, and 'cause I spied a copy on Ebay that was gonna run me about $22 w/shipping. Some guy tried to swoop in last minute and get it, and he bumped it up a few dollars, but I put in the winning bid of $23 with about 16 seconds to go and took it down. So, with $4 shipping, and the $1.30 shipping insurance I decided to spring for just incase, I'm still saving about $7-10 off retail, so I'm happy.
Anybody played it yet?

This game OWNS! If you liked Castlevania then this should be no different.

Congrats on the win, dude! And no, every time I try to roll some anonymous kid for his DS, I get me ass whupped. I've tried the entire third grade class now, maybe I should move on to more manageable targets, the SECOND GRADE! It's just, they look so dangerous in their One-Piece and Naruto shirts... * runs* PS: I did recently pick up Harmony of Dissonance for DIRT cheap in mint condition, and it is a blast! No DS game, but Castlevania none the less!

The One-Piece kids are EASY... You gotta watch your back when you try to roll the Naruto ones; they move in packs of threes.

Yeah HoD was the one GBA game I actually bought. I did really enjoy it, but now I feel like I need to pick up Aria or Sorrow, since apparently Dawn of Sorrow is a sequel to that.

Well, I would figure as much. I've not played a bad Castlevania yet (though, I have only really played three: CV, CV III, and CV:HoD).
