Tony Jaa's a fucking badass, that's all there is to it.
of course, If I could get my foot twice my height off the ground from a stopped standing jump, I'd be a badass too.
you should try to grab a copy of the protector with english subtitles - I watched it without the first time, I just felt lost in most of the non-action parts, because, well, only a quarter of it is in english, and most of it is engrish sounding, which is funny. subtitles made the movie a better 'movie' - not that it's super different from Ong-Bak - "Hey, your shit's stolen! Use the forbidden techniques of asskicking to get it back."
second to last thought is that wrestling games need to add shit so I can make Tony Jaa in them and have him win all the titles at the same time.
last thought is that I just wanna see him hit a shining wizard, really.

last thought is that I just wanna see him hit a shining wizard, really. Tony Jaa can't do a simple Shining Wizard. It'd be like, Uber Shiny Shining Super Shiny Wizard - he'd like, bounce off your nkee and your neck and the wall and a light post and hit you in the face with his nkee and elbow and wang all at once. AND YOU WOULD DIE.

Tony Jaa would find a way to combine the "John Woo" with the "Shining Rewind"... And combine it with a 100% CRITICAL! rate

Oh, I just remembered that Nathan Jones is in The Protector. Does a good job in it, too, but he's gotta be on, like, eight kinds of steroids cuz he is HUGE.

It's not the crank, I heard he ate Thai orphans for lunch while filming The Protector. They're like a protein shake, only warm and spicy.

If you want to see the Protector just go on ebay and find a cheap Ching-Chong copy of Tom Yun Goon or something, most of it is in English and from what I remember about the US release in theaters they just dubbed over so much.

On the Protector DVD there's a neat little trailer for a movie called Kill Zone. Has anyone taken this flick in?

I gave Kill Zone a rent and enjoyed it quite a bit. It's more story heavy then action scene heavy which really worked. Sammo can fuckin move for a fat dude.

Killzone... Is that the one where Samo has longer hair, and there's some dude in white who's good with knives? Samo looked fawkin' awesome in that movie! He's lost a bit of weight, and I liked how they did him up (smooth-ass, pimped out gangsta look!). Samo is my favorite out of all of the Kung Fu movie dudes, and is hands down the most talented out of them all (With Gordon Liu up there, too), even at his age! If you like Samo, check out Ji Yook Wing (Magnificent Butcher), The Prodigal Son, Iron Fisted Monk, and about a zillion other awesome movies.
Side notes: Samo was supposed to do the choreography for Kung Fu Hustle, but he got pissed off at the snot-nosed prick actors (who have NEVER done any martial arts training in their lives, except for the four old masters) and bounced. Also, he was the dude in the black speedos fighting Bruce Lee at the start of Enter the Dragon! ;D

Yeah, I saw the "ching chong" (thanks Spunk) version last spring (it's called SPL, whatever the hell that stands for...), and I'd watched the entire thing in Chinese before my friend showed me that there were English subtitles. Luckily, Sammo shits out his dialouge with his hands. He looked like a total bad ass in that movie, I know I stated that before, but it's just so cool to see him in shape again, and lookin' so dope! Aww... Mini Sammo back in the "Chut Siu Fok" (Seven Little Fortunes) days... I guess he's part of another remake of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms stories, due out next year some time! i can't wait!

If you guys are looking for a cool Kung Fu movie, one of my all time faves came from a very unlikely source, but, nonetheless, I think it turned out really well. The movie is Last Hurrah For Chivalry, and it was directed by a new, young, Hong Kong director named John Woo... No, there are no thirty minute gun fights, just cool dialogue and some pretty cool fighting scenes! It's kind of hard to find (maybe not so hard for some of you...), but it's worth looking for in my opinion.

I am resurrecting this thread for the reason that I'm finally going to watch Battle Royale.
What took me so long? How did I stumble upon it after all these years?
Well you see, Crystal and I caught the first Death Note live action movie a few months back and she instantly starting crushing on the dude that played L. Since then we've watched the second and the spin off that was made this year (all kick ass movies btw). But hey that wasn't enough, I've also sat threw Linda Linda Linda and we're currently in the middle of watching a TV show called Sexy Voice and Robo.
I started googling the dude that played Light Yagami and lone and behold, he's the m-ain dude in Battle Royale. I'm going to sit down and watch it after work but I can't help but feel this is long overdue.
