So yeah, Fight Network is pretty cool for MMA stuff, but I've recently discovered another little gem that they carry,
Wrestling at The Chase
Watching that is like checking out a Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame site, tons of cool old shit there! JJ Dillon was even in a tag match against one of the Von Erich guys (I think it was Terry)! Flair was in a match with Pat O'Connor where Flair ended up busted open, bloodying up the "golden mane" (the promo Flair cut at the end was AMAZING!). Terry Taylor, Ted DeBiase, Harley Race were all also on the show, it was freakin' sweet! I loved all of the old ladies in the crowd, rockin' the big perms and the silk shirts with frilly lace collars and stuff, cheering and shaking their fists when the babyfaces took bumps, classic shit! Man wrestling has changed A LOT since then. It was kind of cool too, because just before The Chase started, ROH was on, and I kept thinking, what would guys like O'Connor and Race think if they stepped into the ring with some of these ROH guys?...

How cool is THIS for an event poster? Tuesday night is a bit odd, but hey, some of the guys involved with HUSTLE are likely involved with this, so...

That makes me very happy I have a strong Fire Pro tie to Peter Aerts. He was one of the first characters I ever used in Fire Pro D back when I first got it. It took me less time to get the strikes down then the grapples and Peter had some good striking so I was actually able to win with him early on And I've seen him fight a lot and know he's top notch. Multi-time champ and a threat after all this time

This is what I love about K-1 versus shit like the UFC. These guys have been training in their disciplines since they were CHILDREN in most cases, and what we see in the ring is decades of refinement. Yeah, there are some hacks in every organization (cough, Bob Sapp, cough), but guys like Aerts and Hoost last (lasted) a long time, and as you mentioned OG, re n viable THREATS. I could watch head kicks and axe kicks that could crush an elephant's skull be traded between two guys that shake said blows off like they're nothing more than mosquito bites all day! I can't wait to catch the final in December! PS: any of you catch any K-1 max stuff? Lightweights + stand-up = f__king insanity! MASATO, Artur Kyshenko (reminds me of a skinny little Igor Vovchanchen!), Buakaw Pramuk (like watching Ong Bak, but REAL!... Wow!), Yasuhiro Kido, and Albert Kraus... This group is LOADED! fun stuff to watch!

I love K-1. I really enjoy watching it when they occasionally have it on late nights here. MASATO is really fun to watch as is Remy Bojansky. And you can't go wrong with the heavies like Aerts and Hoost I don't think I've ever seen the K-1 Max tournaments though. That sounds pretty cool Any ones in particular you'd recommend?

Pretty much any of them. There have been quite a few of the recent ones on the Fight Network, and they're always good! Anything with Bukaw in it is certain to be entertaining, and I don't know why specifically, but I like watching Kyshenko, too! I remember seeing Kraus in a really good fight (that he ended up losing), too. They're all pretty good events, and the tournament style ones always yield a great war or two!

That ruled Spinning side kicks to the stomach don't get enough respect either. That can knock the wind the F out of you. Nice to see it end the fight like that

TKO is pretty awesome stuff. Its been on Canadian sports channels off and on again for quite a while, and has spit guys like Jonathan Goulet, David Loiseau, Mark Hominick, GSP, and Patrick Cote out of its ranks, and the fights are always a blast to watch (and they used a RING, not a stupid ass cage!). TKO is based out of Montreal, and till recently, was a great and solid Canadian based MMA group, but Stephane Patry recently stepped down as the group's president. I'm really worried about this move because it leaves TKO in a really shitty spot, and a fair sized (around 5000-7000 tickets) TKO event scheduled for Montreal in December was canceled outright. One way or the other, Patry being gone will leave TKO in Limbo, because Party started the whole thing, and turned MMA into something respectable in a country where if it isn't hockey, it's not worth looking at.

Man, I can't believe I missed all that K1 talk before. Did anybody see the WGP Finals? Seriously, best combat arts show I've seen in a very long time. As a dude who has been watching K-1 for a long time, I can say it is the best they've had since like 2002. It seems like the freak show is over (except that they now have Kimbo on the payroll)! Best shit? www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmM-xfUxR6sTell me that does not rule. I jumped off my couch and was shouting when that happened. Also, I am so stoked that HDNet in the US is airing K1 and K1 MAX stuff live. It means full shows in HD with (albeit rather poor) english commentary. I've seen every MAX show since its inception and this has me way stoked, because most of the shit we get from Japanese TV has the entire second round clipped out, which is bullshit. FULL K1 MAX SHOWS.
