Royce is the only high profile Gracie Sakuraba hasn't fought, Sakuraba has this one in the bag unless he comes to the ring with pre-broken arms and legs. I wouldn't be surprised one bit to see Helio Gracie (aka L.L.M.) challenge Sakuraba, too! Also... And... OSU!!!!

Oh yeah, I forgot, Bork was supposed to fight the lil' fella on the left... He's only 7'2" and 363 lbs, it shouldn't be an issue for the master of the F-5, and a guy who curls the Raw set ing promos... Choi wasn't cleared to fight Bork because he was in a match at the end of April. Ghey. So now, Lesnar is being thrown a can. The Sakuraba fight will be of interest, because it involves Sakuraba, but I think the Lesnar fight will blow chunks. The ignored, REST of the card will likely be the highlight of the event. Too bad a Lesnar/Mighty Mo fight wasn't set up! ;D

Okay, throw Rickson on the list, too...
Fuck, I knew if I stuck my neck out and said Saku would win that he'd end up shitting the bed. Booo....

Did you manage to see the match? From sherdog, it seemed like it was a total snoozefest (which, given Gracie's involvement should surprise exactly no one) and that Sak was a lot more calm then usual. What I want to know was whether it was even more boring then the Gracie/Shamrock superfight in the 90's. I had freaking friends over for that fight that wouldn't talk to me for a WEEK cause of how bad that fight was, LOL

That was the shittiest fight in HISTORY, the UFC was lucky to have survived in ANY capacity after that one, yet all of these years later, they still don't find it necessary to adopt the very thing that could almost certainly eradicate a repeat performance...
THE YELLOW CARD!

Ugh, yeah, I know what you mean. Yellow cards could be potentially very helpful. And likely would have saved that Gracie/Shamrock Superbore. That was like a 60 minute porn of two people playing checkers.
Although, I think there IS a danger of having yellow cards for UFC just cause the audience loves them some steeeeriking knockouts and I'd be worried that the actual competent ground fighters could be penalized just by attempting to take the fight to the ground and actively manuever for position.
The yellow card was MADE for Gracie fights, I just would be afraid to see it used against guys who actually are aggressive on the ground just so the officials can get the fighters on their feet for the fans. Not sure if they'd make the distinction between "Gracie doing nothing" and "Fedor working for position".
For example, when Gonzaga had CroCop down, they should not have been put back on their feet, IMO. Gonzaga had control, was working, and wasn't just turtling like Gracie. But either the UFC fans weren't happy watching two guys on top of each other or Dana wanted to see a knockout in the fight, so the fight was brought to their feet even though no stalling was happening. So i'd be wary of a yellow card in UFC for ground stalling just cause it would likely be abused in the wrong situations for nefarious reasons.
Still, if applied correctly in MMA feds, I'd doubt we'd ever see Gracie dare take another fight ;D

K-1 is simply not an intelligently run company. First of all, booking a 100,000 seat arena in a place you've never run a show like this before is bad. Second of all, having no big name fighters on the show is going to be a disaster no matter what. UFC is drawing decent now, but they have a brand name and big name fighters that they've made over the years. Brock Lesnar is a pro-wrestler who was champion around the time when it stopped mattering to be a champion as there was another show with another champion and things got confusing. Never mind it was during a down period and HE IS NOT A FUCKING FIGHTER.
I don't get how somebody couldn't be unimpressed with Lesnar. Wow, a wrestler took some dude down and used ground n' pound. So has every other wrestler-turn-fighter who isn't very good at much outside of wrestling. Then the fact that Brock fought a basic hack is just.. yeah

Hong Man Choi as an opponent for Lesnar would have been more interesting. Choi can fight, and I bet it was not by mistake that he wasn't cleared for his match with Lesnar. That said, even as green a fighter as Lesnar is, he's still strong as fuck, with a solid amateur background, so I don't know if Choi could have done a lot off of his back (I've only ever seen him in K-1 rules fights, never a "Heroes" rules fight.).
And yeah, what the fuck was K-1 thinking with that abomination of a card?!?! No one gives a shit about Lesnar that would go out of their way to see an MMA card, and only BJJ nuthuggers would be drawn by Royce, so what was the point? This shit should have been free on Fox or something.

K-1 got hosed on this show, basically. They paid a million to showtime to put on this show, paid 500k to book the arena and another 500k on production. This isn't even touching the fighter's salaries. I think they got lucky that Morton failed his drug test and they didn't have to pay him 100,000 bucks for being a wuss.
