Where do you guys like to head to kick your heels up? Here's one of my favorite places to head when I have some spare cash and time, www.banffgondola.com/live_cam.asp#If you're looking at this at night, you probably won't see much but some lights, if it's not cloudy. This is a web camera posted on top of Sulfer Mountain in Banff National Park (you can take an expensive gondola ride to the top of the mountain to check out the HUGE observation deck, or you can hike up the mountain and get a FREE ride down! It rocks!). Banff is in Alberta, about an hour and a half out of Calgary (and I know y'all know where that is...), it's smack in the middle of the Canadian Rockies and it's one of the coolest places on Earth. I feel lucky to have places like this in my backyard (well, basically. It's only about four or five hours away, depending on how fast you want to get there . It's a resort town with lots of skiing, hiking, cycling, and historical stuff (Canada's FIRST national park!) to do, not to mention a pretty robust night life. LOTS of young Japanese, Austrailian, European, and American tourists head there, and a party isn't hard to find. Anyway, just thought I'd share, and don't forget to check the web cam out at different times (I've stood under that camera and seen that shit for myself many times. I wish I could send you buggers up there myself!).

Oh yeah, and for those who care, Brokeback Mountain was filmed pretty close to Cowtown (sorry, Calgary. Everyone here calls Calgary "Cowtown"). So when you plan your trip to Banff, you can look out of your rental car/bus window and wave at where the cowboys played real MEN'S MEN!

It's awesome stuff like this that makes me NEED my passport so I can go to Canada more often.
...eh...
I'm not sure how many of us are aware of this, but recent "issues" mean American citizens need passports to go to Canada now. CANADA!
But anyways. North, eh!

WHAT?!? That's retarded. Bet ya $10 you don't need a passport to go to Mexico. But, I bet that's because Mexico's economy is so reliant on drunken college kids than requiring them to do something like having identification would totally collapse Mexico into a recession.

Don't worry, it's not a one-way deal. Canadians need pasports to travel to the US, too. It's fucking pathetic, but due to all of the fear mongering and bullshit, we now all need pasports to travel over a huge borderthat has been basically open for decades. Sad.

But... this'll break the Canadian economy! How're 18-year-olds in Ohio or Vermont or Michigan supposed to get drunk now that the need identification to get across the Canadian border?!?
