Sounds like an awful show, but you can't really expect much in a WWE arena in front of WWE fans. If they don't start booking ECW shows independently with a quickness this things is going to die a horrible death. And I gotta admit, if ECW decided to really go all out with the zombies and vampires I would really enjoy it. I mean, why not? If you're going to be a laughingstock then be one with a touch of style. Of course this opinion comes from the same guy that created an e-fed based around a galactic struggle againt moon demons, so take it for what it's worth.

In July, ECW is going to be doing a taping at New Almbara Arena, or however the fuck you spell it, which is what used to be Viking Hall, a.k.a. ECW Arena. So, THAT will be the show to keep an eye on, since there'll be an actual crowd and not a SmackDOWN! crowd.

There's an interesting fan review of ECW's inaugural show here (from Live Audio Wrestling, the one near the bottom of the update, submitted by a fan.).

There's an interesting fan review of ECW's inaugural show here (from Live Audio Wrestling, the one near the bottom of the update, submitted by a fan.). First, simply. BWAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!!! I am amused that people continuously bemoan that Angle splattered Justin Credible. Justin Credible, the same champion many ECW fans point to as the guy who KILLED the ECW audience after immediately ditching his "Aldo Montoya" gimmick in the WWEff, has people moaning... I mean, c'mon now. It's not Taz or RVD or anybody respectable Angle killed. It was Justin Credible. Seriously. wtf.

Yanno, I don't think Imma watch ECW again. Not just because of the retarded sci-fi shit, or the fact that it felt like one of those really bad episodes of iMPACT! from when they were on FSN, with the squash matches and poor structure... it's more because David Lagana (the head writer of SmackDOWN!) has been moved to the head writer of ECW. Which means, kids? That ECW'll suck as bad as SmackDOWN! did. Which will hopefully suck less now with Lagana gone. But probably not.
Oh, and for those wondering, the WCW show--- I'm sorry, I meant ECW show was written by Heyman. And then changed by Vince and Kevin Dunn.

ECW.com has an MVP section now. So, I guess, after each show Joey Styles is going to write up one of these. Here's the one for the first week.

Also, thought this was worth looking at.

Joey called the zombie an "undead, sports entertainer". There are no " sports entertainers" in ECW, are there?...

I mean, we've all seen the movies, played the games, and have a great understanding of living/undead relations, but is it fare or even necessary to resort to a labling a "living impared" entity with the the handle, "sports entertainer"? Can't we all just get along?

Question for anyone that watched ECW back in "the day". Did Joey Styles and whomever might've been doing color commentary with him ever put over how Sandman spent some 10 years switching between rugby fights and jail terms as much as they have since the WWE vs ECW show?
Or Balls Mahoney's six-month-long amatuer wrestling background?

I never heard it. And I'm pretty sure Joey never had a color man until the TNN days w/Don Callis.

Joey and Joel (Well, okay, Joey) went on about Balls' amaresu background quite often, but no Sandman shit, though, not that I can remeber, anyway.

I've seen the WWE vs ECW show, ONS, and the first ECW show, and I've heard Joey bring up the stuff about Sandman some four times now. Four times in three shows. Yeah, ECW is about calling the matches, not storytelling. Go suck a pinecone, Styles.
