Yeah, I tried that. Didn't let me take it home.

Awesome new Brawl update: Superspicy Curry! When you eat it, you spit out fire, almost like the Fire Flower! But, after that first burst of flame, you're covered in fire! You still have all your normal moves, they just have an added effect: fire damage! Bam!

So, did anybody else get Corruption?

Nope.
I think I'll wait till I've either beaten Echos, or until the game isn't $59.99 (I don't know which will take longer to arrive at).

FINALLY beat Echoes yesterday, and my Corruption pre-order at Amazon finally shipped yesterday, so I should be getting it in the l by the end of the week. But man, the second to last boss in Echoes kept kicking my ass... I finally got pissed and decided to use my Action Replay to give me infinite health, but I got even more pissed when I found out my AR no longer worked. So, I tried one more time and in anger and desperation, it finally hit me: I wised up and started firing off Annihilator beam shots when the things mouth wasn't orange, and I finally beat that SOB. Apparently the moral of the story for me is, if I ever need to beat a game that's giving me a hard time, get pissed at it. For some reason, that seems to heighten my video game playing abilities... >_<

$59.99? Damn wacky Canadians and your silly money.
I've got the game, I just gotta get some people to exchange Friend Vouchers with so I can get some of these neat little extras, like the Screenshot Tool or the Mii Bobblehead for the gunship.

Nice! I wondered if there was any Wii Connect/Wii friend code implementation in the game or not. I had it in my grubby hands today, but prudent Jon put it down, realizing that in January when I need a new pair of shoes or pants, and am swamped with papers and labs, owning a copy of Corruption isn't going to keep me warm...

Nice! I wondered if there was any Wii Connect/Wii friend code implementation in the game or not. Yeah, I was just hoping for a bit more, yanno? Like, maybe new download content (or just a 'key' to access hidden content), like a new suit or two. Ah, well. Can't complain so-far. I'm loving the game.

I was REALLY hoping for a Wii, Hunters-style experience... but why give the consumer the whole cow at once when they will still line up and pay big dosh for the milk alone? Glad to hear you're liking the game!

Hunters sucked.
And if you mean multiplayer, Echoes had it, and it sucked.
Corruption is a thousand times better as a first-person adventure/shooter, and a million times better as a Metroid series game than Hunters. It's not perfect, and it's fairly linear, but there's a lot more fun to be had here than in Hunters.
Retro Studios and Metroid on consoles are going into hibernation for awhile, and Corruption is the last of the Prime-storyline games. There's supposed to be a new 2D Metroid game on tap for DS, Dread, but it's only been shown on a release list once and has since disappeared until it got mentioned in Corruption. So, here's hoping.

So my copy of Corruption finally arrived, and damn, I'm loving it so far! That second boss battle was AWESOME (and after seeing the original video of it a few months ago on YouTube, I knew I HAD to have this game to experience that one fight alone ;D). I gotta admit, I like the new atmosphere the game seems to have. I mean, I loved the past two Primes, but they pulled off that "All alone" atmosphere so well, that it kinda bothered me, to a point. I guess I just like knowing that there are other people (and Hunters) to interact with. Though, being that I'm only an hour or two in, so far, I don't know how much that atmosphere will change before the game is over. For all I know, the story could take a dramatic twist, and leave you stranded all alone again...
And is it just me, or do the new Space Pirates look pretty awesome? Heh, I didn't even recognize them at first, until they started shooting at me. >_>

Do you mean the fight against Meta Ridley? That is a good-ass fight, yeah.
Just wait 'till you get to some of the real fun ones. Muwahaha.

Heh heh, yeah, that Ridley one was the one I was talking about (I just wasn't sure if I'd be spoiling it for anyone >_>). I can't help but wonder if Ridley makes another appearance later on, because it wouldn't make a lot of sense to kill him (Ridley is a "him", right?) off so soon in the game... In fact, I was a bit surprised when that fight happened so soon. But when I got to the random save station near it, I thought "Hm... Save station, here? Must be a boss fight coming up", then when I switched to my map to check things out, I saw that long shaft and got all giddy, cuz I knew what was coming up. ^_^ Well, anyway, I'm not too far in, just yet, but I think this game is what MPH wanted to be. Granted, the DS couldn't exactly pull it off, but still. Ya know? I mean, it kinda feels a little like the Hunters experience, to me, except good.
