I LOVE this, How many times have you been to an incredibly shitty movie with full knowledge that you'll NEVER see your money or get the two hours of your life that was wasted back again? How many combined hours of stupid ads have you sat through while waiting to see your film of choice? How many "UNCUT", "DIRECTOR'S CUT", and "SPECIAL EDITIONS" have been pedaled to you after dishing out good money to see the movie in theaters and then buying the DVD? Here's an idea, STOP MAKING SHITTY MOVIES! Every time I see an ad for a Will Ferrell movie, I think of the Southpark episode where they mock Rob Schneider with the "derp dee derp" stuff. This article is pretty funny, the friggin' Heritage Minister and the minister of JUSTICE are working on this issue. Hmm, my Provincial government just rejected a rent control bill, leaving people who work full time jobs unnable to afford a place to live, my friend was almost killed by a bunch of assholes who stabbed him full of holes last summer, and he's still dealing with partial paralysis and a recurring infection, but no one has been caught yet. I'll sleep better at night knowing the Heritage Minister and the Minister of Justice are addressing REAL ISSUES, like foreign business interests. Hurry up and invade us, I'm tired of our pussy government. * practices for his US citizenship test*

Hurry up and invade us, I'm tired of our pussy government. :-* * practices for his US citizenship test* I'm kind of shocked to see that become a government issue rather than a business one - I would imagine that having, y'know, employees walking into the theater and up and down the aisles occasionally would be enough of a deterrent, but SERIOUS JAIL TIME, woah, dude, that's some heavy sh- y'know, I can't even sarcasm here. The slightly maladjusted concerns of the government leads to this sort of thing: "Oh, we have to keep the American movie industry happy so they'll keep filming in Vancouver!" Well, what happens when they find somewhere CHEAPER to film movies? Like, Germany? What then? Seriously: The economy and any beneficial trading done through it is a very fickle thing; you can't dictate government time on something so loosely earned and easily lost, rather than focus on immediate problems that have long term, far reaching effects. Stupid (insert country here) governments.

I've been hearing a lot about this Canuckian piracy lately and found an interesting story last night: Warner Brothers (not Yakko and Wakko) have banned movie previews in Canada!. Damn it, now you guys won't be able to preview movies that you might pirate! After all, its not like previews aren't online or anything!! Damn, I wonder if they'll ban annoying commercials too to REALLY punish you guys ;D Oh, and Someone comes to the defense of Canada, and basically says the MPAA (and the US) is talking out their collective filthy assholes (since all this damn piracy is bankrupting them and they can't afford TP anymore, poor guys). Check out the article to see how offbase MPAA really is on this one. As for how Canada is dealing with it, well, I'd love to say the Canadian government has misplaced priorities but the US made that into a freaking ART FORM so I really can't "blame Canada". But I can say that i emphathize with you, my northern neighbor! But believe me, you don't want us taking you over. Unless you want educational standards to drop to those of 10th century quality Shit's bad over here...hell, shit's bad EVERYWHERE

Shit's bad over here...hell, shit's bad EVERYWHERE :-[ Quoted for Duff's tl;dr. Also, truth. As far as the movie thing goes, wouldn't overseas markets be a larger concern? Shit, China opened Spider-Man 3 a full three or four days before it opened in America; plenty of time for someone to record, upload and have 39204839084038 billion torrenters going at once.

Hehe, a friend of mine is a Best Buy store manager, and he was telling me that the stores in China don't sell DVDs or software because everywhere you go, you can get movies that aren't out HERE yet for a buck or two, and that you can get Vista for two bucks just about anywhere.
