There's always 2 girls 1 finger. Meh. Not sure I want to push the effort button on a second video similar to one that bored me to tears. I blame Duff's love of shock photos and Dijon's use of Mr. Goatse for my horrible, horrible desensitization.

Yeah, man. Dijon was using goatse magic back in like 2002 and this "2 girls, 1 cup "phenomenon" ( ) is way too late to make an impact. Then again, i was pretty desensitized leading up to goatse as it is. I blame "Pink Flamingoes".

Do you people think we'd have ever ended up with RPGs as a video game genre without him and D & D? It's a really good question. Things would definitely be SO different. What he did really revolutionized gaming as a whole. D&D influenced the world of recreation in so many ways, political ways too. D&D people fighting for their rights against that generation's Jack Thompsons really helped set the stage for video game advocates today. It would have been a very different world without D&D. Even though I never really played it formally (I did have brief flirtations with AD&D PC games like "Secret of the Silver Blades" and "Death Knights of Krynn") I certainly highly respect Gary Gygax and the genre for having the impact it did.

No shit, man, that dude opened a lot of doors no one ever realized were there. Look at the size of D & D now, as far as spin-offs from the n game, the vast worlds created around each arm of the story, it's friggin' crazy! GG's little paper game was a huge catalyst for so many things, it's pretty amazing. Sadly, because his fame was mostly recognized by hand fulls of people (that look a lot like the Simpson's Comic Book Guy...) at hotel convention halls, his accomplishments will go mostly unrecognized, even by throngs of people playing Mass Effect, and Final Fantasy. That dude did quite a bit for someone most people have never even heard of, kinda sad.

I first saw the story on Gamespot today so I'm glad they recognized it. Hopefully some younger gamers will have checked that out. I think I have certainly taken D&D for granted as well, to a certain extent, but today kinda made me fully realize how important it was for both their core fans and for all of the genres it influenced. And to think of how it simple it started out too only to become what it has, its just amazing. Not only did it have such influence for the genres I actively partake in, but I always felt a kinship with those hardcore D&D gamers just based on the passion they have for a genre that is so specialized and in depth.

And you've got to hold a game in reverence that brought us G's story of the gang-rape and murder of a clergy member!
Poor G... He and his D & D group are probably simultaneously trying to cast a revive spell...

If they all simultaneously roll 20's...
No, no, necromancy isn't the way to go. They always come back as zombies.
And we really don't want Gary using his talents for EA after being brought back to life.

Um...
As a D&D nerd, though, I do have to wonder... Did he drop a good loot?
